We welcome Yun Joung Park, our new Director of Music Ministries, on Sunday, February 4, 2018. Yun and her husband, Yool Lee, who is employed as a research associate at the University of Pennsylvania in the Department of Neuroscience, both grew up in South Korea. Yun received her Bachelor of Arts in piano in Korea and then continued to study piano in Germany, where she completed her Artist Diploma at Kӧln Musikhochschule (Standort Aachen).  After returning to Korea, while working as a pianist and teacher, she earned her Master of Music in musicology, with a concentration in western music history, at Seoul National University. She recently earned her Graduate Performance Degree in piano at Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University. Yun has served several churches in Korea, Germany, and the United States as a choir pianist, most recently at Cheltenham Presbyterian Church and at Armenian Martyrs' Congregational Church in Havertown. She has extensive experience in performance as well as in teaching and research, particularly while a faculty member in piano at Kyungpook National University and as a research assistant at Seoul National University. Yun has performed in seven solo piano recitals and numerous chamber music concerts here in the United States and in Korea and Europe. Yun and Yool recently moved to Swarthmore with their two preschool-age daughters, Jeannie, who is two, and Bonnie, who recently celebrated her fifth birthday.

Pastor Kevin was appointed to Swarthmore United Methodist Church in 2018. He is also currently the pastor of Clifton Heights Church (United Methodist) where he has served since 2012. Previously he served as a Hospital and Hospice Chaplain, Youth Pastor, and Church Planter and Developer. Pastor Kevin has a passion for serving both the church and the community. After graduating from Drew Theological School in 2000, having earned his Master of Divinity with highest honors, he completed his clinical pastoral training at Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey. Pastor Kevin is also a Healing Practitioner in Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry and a Certified Consulting Hypnotist. Pastor Kevin was also trained by the Eastern Pennsylvania Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church in church planting, development, and revitalization. He continued his training by completing the Nonprofit Management Certificate Course at The University of Delaware.  Dedicated to serving the community, he also completed the Basic Police Chaplain Course through The Police Chaplain Program. Pastor Kevin’s ministerial style is relaxed and casual. He leads the church with a sense of mission and a good sense of humor. With a passionate dislike of meetings and committees, Pastor Kevin believes people sometimes take the church more seriously than their faith. He holds that church is indeed serious, but doesn’t need to be taken too seriously: Just seriously enough to follow Jesus and serve our community. Pastor Kevin has been married for sixteen years. Regina, his wife, is a writer and editor with an interest in nonprofit fundraising and development. Regina enjoys knitting, loves reading, is an artist, and is an aficionado of classic movies. Their two boys, Quincy and James, are in middle school and are interested in video games, sports, movies, and visiting with their grandparents as often as possible.
